The Tahoe Rim Trail is a 170-mile backpacking loop trail encircling Lake Tahoe in California and Nevada. In the summer of 2023, I flew into Reno, a friend picked me up, then we drove to Tahoe City, CA. We parked the car and hiked the loop trail 11 days back to the parking lot.
We seriously underestimated this trail due to the low mileage at 170...but it was a great experience. Especially hitchhiking into South Lake Tahoe & hiking around in the Desolation Wilderness with PCT thru-hikers.
